After watching the video, former Stockport County player Antoni Sarcevic made fun of Wrexham.
For the most of the League Two season, Wrexham and Stockport County were locked in a title battle.
In the corresponding match, Stockport prevailed, taking the title four points ahead of Phil Parkinson’s team.
But on the last day, the Welsh team defeated its divisional opponents 2-0 thanks to goals from Andy Cannon and Ollie Palmer, giving the Reds the last laugh.
On that particular day, attacking midfielder Antonio Sarcevic was scheduled to play against Wrexham. However, despite leading the league in goals scored and assists, he was unable to provide a single goal or assist in either of the two league games against the Reds.
After Stockport was promoted to League One, they released Sarcevic, and Bradford City signed the gifted 32-year-old on a free transfer.
Antoni Sarcevic aims dig at Welcome to Wrexham
In addition to making headlines for joining the Bantams, Sarcevic also poked fun of the Welcome to Wrexham documentary.
As the fifth episode of the third series approaches, viewers from all over the world are tuning in to a documentary that explores their ascent up the football pyramid.
Since its debut in August 2022, Welcome to Wrexham has become incredibly popular; nonetheless, some people, including Sarcevic, aren’t big fans of it.
The former Stockport player describes the show as “quite boring” in an interview with the I Had Trials Once podcast, saying that he expected it to be similar to the All or Nothing series on Amazon Prime.
“No, I haven’t seen the most recent one,” he stated. I had seen the previous ones, but they didn’t really focus on the football.
It was pretty dull. It reminded me of the “All or Nothing” series on Amazon Prime, I thought. I had assumed that it would focus only on the football, but it really revolves around everything.
Welcome to Wrexham, a place apart.
A distinctive television series, Welcome to Wrexham explores the lives of the locals and the significance of football in their lives.
On the other hand, there are other documentaries that are only about football and emphasise the raw emotions of the dressing room through presenting the managers’ conversations with the players before to and during halftime.
The Wrexham documentary mostly targets a broader audience, possibly those who aren’t as engaged in sports, but it does have brief scenes where Parkinson is furious at the players and excerpts from their matches.
The All or Nothing idea appeals to die-hard football fans, but Welcome to Wrexham is special because it shows how much of an impact Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds have had on a community.
Sarcevic is obviously not interested in listening, but millions are, which is why it’s so well-liked.
