Medical booked: Crystal Palace agree stunning deal with highly rated 20-year-old defender linked to Man United

Crystal Palace agree stunning deal with highly-rated 20-year-old -Atletico Madrid wanted him

The first Oliver Glasner-era signing has been made by Crystal Palace, and they have a medical booking.

LondonWorld has learned that Crystal Palace has demonstrated extraordinary determination to defeat Manchester United and Atletico Madrid in order to get Real Betis defender Chadi Riad. A cost of £12 million has been agreed upon for the 20-year-old Morocco international’s medical, which is scheduled for next week.

Riad, who has already made two appearances for his nation, went from Barcelona to Real Betis last summer, where he played 30 games and made a huge impression as one of the game’s rising talents in Spain.

As he approaches the last two years of his contract this summer, Palace and England defender Marc Guehi has drawn interest from a number of teams and has been linked to Manchester United.

But, Riad’s arrival provides Palace the room and time to consider proposals and assess the team’s strength before what should be a significant summer overhaul.

The defender will reportedly sign a five-year contract with a club option for an additional year if they are satisfied with him at the conclusion of his time in south London, according to sources.

Eagles finish the season well.

After winning their previous five games, Selhurst equaled their greatest league season result by finishing in 10th place. Now the sun is shining over Selhurst. They also scored 49 points, which is equal to their highest Premier League point total.

Fans’ enthusiasm for the playing style is also evident in Glasner’s support, the Austrian manager who declined a chance to continue with the Eagles from Bayern Munich.

Palace will be hoping to hold onto all of its valuable assets as Michael Olise and Emerechi Eze’s futures remain uncertain. In response to a question concerning their future last month, Glasner stated, “I believe they both enjoy being fit, getting chances, and creating chances.” We both like to play football, but not just when we have the ball and are winning.

“We want to keep them because they contribute greatly by being compact.”
