Tom Bailey is back with transfer round up of the National League, including Glovers corner…GLOVERS’ CORNER
Let’s take a look at the previous Glovers who have made moves in the last few weeks before delving into the ins and outs of the National League. We might overlook a few, so please feel free to tag us on Facebook, Twitter, or X, or simply leave a comment below, and we’ll include them in the round-up for the following week!
This week has seen a lot of Glover movement because one of our previous season’s champions has moved!Chelmsford City, the NLS runners-up from the previous season, has added Jake Hyde as they attempt to bounce back from their disappointing playoff campaign. Another Glover who was with us the previous season but did not play was Scott Pollock, who joined with Bramley Town, a National League North playoff team.
Some Glovers of former years have also been on the move, as Alex Bradley joined Stourbridge following a stint with Walsall Wood, and Adi Yussuf has joined Southern League Premier Division Central side Halesowen Town. Off field, former YTFC “manager” Neale Marmon was announced as Sporting Director at Gibraltar National League side Lions Gibraltar, and another former YTFC manager (a proper one this time!) is back off to Europe; Steve Rutter has been announced as the Technical Director for the academy of Cypriot side Omonoia Nicosia, who will feature in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds this season!

Altrincham
For the first time in a couple of weeks, Altrincham have a new signing! On Thursday afternoon, Joe Nuttall was announced as their latest addition, joining from fellow National League side Oldham Athletic.
There has been a major departure as well this week, as last season’s National League Player of the Season, Chris Conn-Clarke, left the club to join League One side Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee. The 22 year old scored 22 goals, and got 6 assists during a stellar campaign ending in playoff heartache; he will be a big loss for the Robins.
Two players who had already left the side have found new homes as well, as Joey Jones signed with Walton & Hersham, and Dior Angus joined AFC Telford United.

A couple of new homes for some names on the “Out” list; a departure that hasn’t officially been announced per se, is Moussa Diarra. He spent part of last season on loan at Eastbourne Borough, and despite my best efforts, there is nothing out there to suggest he was confirmed as a permanent signing. Diarra is available to be sponsored though, so… a late confirmation for us. Laurie Walker has also seemingly swapped clubs with Nick Hayes, as the ‘keeper joins Solihull Moors.

Two new additions for the Iron this week, as Jamal Fyfield was announced as their latest defensive addition following his six year stint with Boreham Wood; former Southend United man Callum Powell is the second new face, becoming signing number nine so far.
Seemingly out of nowhere, captain Baris Altintop has departed the club as a free agent, with plenty of suitors at National League level. On Thursday afternoon, it was also announced that an offer had been accepted for Aaron Blair, one of the four goal scorers in last season’s playoff final – he’s off to the NLS once more, this time with Maidstone.
