Player will ‘definitely leave’ Brighton this summer

Marc Leonard has only appeared in two games for Brighton & Hove Albion’s senior team thus far, having come up through the ranks of the club’s youth system.

The midfield player was on loan at League One team Northampton Town for the previous two seasons. He still has a year left on his contract, but the Amex is not in his future.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri claims the 22-year-old will “definitely leave” Brighton in the summer transfer window on X, formerly known as Twitter.

According to him, FC Copenhagen of Denmark and Los Angeles FC of the Major League Soccer have expressed the greatest interest in signing the Brighton player. Tavolieri goes on to say that the Scottish midfielder and these two are currently talking about personal terms.

For their part, the Premier League team is prepared to grant Leonard’s requests this summer. They’re asking for a contract worth about £400,000 (bonuses included), which Los Angeles FC and Copenhagen might have no trouble matching.

The player’s preference or the team currently leading the race to sign him are not mentioned by the journalist.
