Wrexham delivered an outstanding performance on the road, securing a 1-0 victory over Rotherham United, thanks to an early goal from Paul Mullin.

Away victories have been rare for Wrexham in League One.

Prior to their trip to Yorkshire on Saturday afternoon, they had managed only one win in five away league matches this season.

While draws against Bolton Wanderers and Leyton Orient were respectable, and the loss to Birmingham City wasn’t too concerning, the victory at Peterborough United had been Wrexham’s sole away win until Saturday.

Now, Phil Parkinson can add another win to his record following a strong showing against Rotherham.

Wrexham needed just one goal to triumph over the Millers, which came within the first 20 seconds when Paul Mullin finished off an early cross from Ryan Barnett.

Wrexham had to endure significant pressure from the home side.

Rotherham controlled more than 66% of the possession and registered 17 shots on Wrexham’s goal, but Parkinson’s squad held firm.

This match marked another clean sheet for Wrexham, along with another assist for wing-back Barnett, following his impressive performance against Northampton Town.

Almost 2,500 traveling fans supported Wrexham, and Humphrey Ker expressed his admiration for those who made the journey.

The executive director of Wrexham took to social media on Saturday to highlight the “absolutely extraordinary noise” made by the fans.

Ker, who was watching the game on television, was astounded by how loud the Wrexham supporters were at the AESSEAL New York Stadium.

Wrexham fans were certainly outnumbered at Rotherham, but the volume of their cheers made a strong impression on Ker.

Former Wrexham striker Andy Morrell echoed this sentiment, suggesting that the away section was “bouncing” as Wrexham supporters created an incredible atmosphere.

Wrexham’s home record has been outstanding under Parkinson, and that success at the STōK Cae Ras will be crucial for a successful season.

However, fans also enjoy the excitement of away games, traveling across borders to support Wrexham alongside friends, family, and fellow die-hard supporters.

The feeling of victory on the way home is unparalleled, and Wrexham fans have plenty to celebrate after a fantastic weekend.
