After reaching a transfer agreement for Hamza Igamane, Rangers now need to resolve a visa issue.

According to Foot Mercato, Hamza Igamane’s vias still need to be cleared by Rangers before he can finalize his move to Ibrox. According to journalist Chris Jack, the Moroccan forward has agreed to a £1.5 million transfer from FAR Rabat to Rangers, as published by the Rangers Review on June 20.

The transfer is going well, according to Foot Mercato (20 June), although there are still certain elements between the two parties that need to be finalized, such the 21-year-old’s visa. It’s still unclear what the striker’s contract will include, but Philippe Clement is hoping to get issues sorted out before Igamane possibly travels to Paris to represent Morocco in the 2024 Olympics [Daily Record].

Rangers close to first new striker in summer transfer rebuild

A center-forward should be the primary priority for the Gers to add this summer, as seen by injuries, form, and upcoming departures. Igamane, who finished the season with seven goals and six assists in 20 Botola league matches, appears likely to provide depth to the forward line.

Igamane is only 21 years old and has never played at this level before, but his performance for Rabat does indicate that he might be included in the starting lineup at Ibrox the following season.

Due to his notable misses in front of goal and an injury sustained in the Scottish Cup Final [Glasgow World], Cyriel Dessers is still a question mark to be the Light Blues’ top striker come August. When Sam Lammers comes to Glasgow after a free-scoring loan stint at Utrecht, he too has a question mark next to his name, and it’s unclear if Clement [Craig Moore] will give him another chance.

Igamane comes from a setting that few Premier League players have experience in, so it’s unlikely that he will be Rangers’ striker of the future, but he might be Clement’s wild card option in the future.
