In the OFC Nations Cup, the head coach of Fiji Football will select his team primarily on quality rather than age for the match against Papua New Guinea. Rob Sherman says he won’t be making his selections based only on experience because the Fiji squad is heavily composed of youth.
Though he concedes that experience counts, he says a few of his young players are fantastic and can transform the game. “The young athletes are incredibly positive. I won’t focus too much on their age because they don’t appear to be phased in the least. All in all, the atmosphere is excellent.
Sherman continues, saying they have a plan of attack and he hopes his players will carry it out effectively on game day. At Papua New Guinea, Fiji will play its opening pool game at 4 p.m. This game is available to stream live on Mirchi FM.
