‘Agreement’ – Fabrizio Romano confirms ‘five-year deal ready’ for Chelsea & Liverpool ‘target’

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, a transfer target for Chelsea and Liverpool, is said to have verbally agreed to join Paris Saint-Germain this January window in exchange for Napoli.

Kvaratskhelia can play up front, but his primary position is left winger. The Georgia international has been linked to both Liverpool and Chelsea in recent weeks, but it appears that he will not be joining the Premier League. He gained a lot of attention during Euro 2024 after proving to be an exceptional member of his country’s squad. Kvaratskhelia has made 17 appearances for the Serie A team this season, tallying five goals and three assists.

After rumours surfaced that the attacker intended to leave Napoli during the January transfer window, Chelsea was mentioned as a possible destination. The 23-year-old was considered by Liverpool as a potential long-term replacement for Mo Salah, who has not yet agreed to a new deal at Anfield, suggesting that this will be his final season with the Reds. According to The Athletic, the player was reportedly admired by the Merseyside club.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano on X claims that PSG and Napoli have reached a deal for Kvaratskhelia to join, and an announcement regarding the move may be made in the days ahead. “Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli have verbally agreed in principle regarding Khvicha Kvaratskhelia,” he stated. After the story was made public here last week, a deal for €70 million [£59 million] plus add-ons was reached. Kvara has a five-year contract available. After the owners provide their final consent, we can proceed.

Enzo Maresca will probably focus on the striker and centre-back positions, where Chelsea is reportedly eager to bolster this month, now that it appears they won’t be able to pursue the Georgian forward.

Conrad Harder, a striker for Sporting CP, has been connected to the Blues recently. He is a less expensive option than his teammate Viktor Gyokeres, who was previously linked to Manchester United and Arsenal.

After joining the Portuguese team during the summer transfer window from Danish team Nordsjaelland, Harder, 19, has made 23 appearances for Sporting, tallying three assists and seven goals. He is rumoured to be a long-term replacement for Gyokeres, who is expected to make a high-profile summer transfer move, with a number of Premier League teams likely to be interested.

In an attempt to replace the injured Wesley Fofana, Chelsea has been connected to a number of centre backs. A major setback for the Blues, he sustained a hamstring injury that will likely keep him out for the rest of the season. The outstanding defender Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace, who was the target of multiple transfer offers from Newcastle United during the summer transfer window, has been linked to them.

The Magpies reportedly made offers as high as £70 million to try to sign the England international, but Palace held out for their asking price of £75 million in the summer. In an effort to stay competitive with Liverpool and Arsenal for the Premier League title, Chelsea may try to acquire the former Blues academy product in order to strengthen their back line.
