Celtic target Koel Casteels has a ‘total verbal agreement’ to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Qadsiah.
After his contract with Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga expired at the end of June, the Belgian goalkeeper is leaving the team. Following Joe Hart’s retirement, Celtic are searching for a new goalkeeper, and they have shown interest in Casteels.
However, Casteels’ transfer to Saudi Arabia has become a real possibility, and it is now one step closer. As per the French sports newspaper L’Equipe, the goalie and Al-Qadsiah have reached a “total verbal agreement.”
The goalie has accepted to join the Saudi team even though he hasn’t signed a contract yet. Next season, Casteels will be playing football in the Kingdom, barring a sudden and dramatic change of heart.
Al-Qadsiah was elevated to the Saudi Pro League this season and has the backing of Saudi Arabia’s state-owned oil and gas company.
