With the fixtures confirming that Celtic will host the season’s first derby at home, Alan Brazil hailed “three points already” and made fun of Rangers. When the clubs’ timetables were confirmed this morning, the Hoops-dumb talkSPORT host ate up the SPFL announcements. The first titans’ meeting between the two Glasgow rivals will take place at Parkhead on August 31, and Brazil has already counted his chickens as he teased the Gers. Together with Gabby Agbonlahor, the analyst feels that his beloved club will easily win. They also talked about the schedule and the first derby day, with Brazil believing that the Gers need more new players than the Celts.
August 31 at Celtic Park is the first Old Firm derby. Beautiful,” Brazil exclaimed. “I hear music. That’s three points out of the gate. Enter. They re-convene at Ibrox on January 2. It’s a significant game. Listen, wasn’t the conclusion of the previous season really close?
Agbonlahor went on: “They need to do better in the derby games. Whenever they [Rangers] play Celtic now, Celtic are looking like the favourites aren’t they?” which Brazil continued: “I have not really kept up to date – because of the Euros – who is in and who is out in terms of who is buying. It is totally different up there. They don’t have the money or resources.” Agbonlahor continued: “Rangers need more than Celtic I would imagine?” And Brazil responded: “They do.”
