Taking pride As Celtic got ready to win the championship, Chris Sutton couldn’t resist sending one final jab at Rangers hero Kris Boyd to round out the season. Brendan Rodgers’ team was well-prepared for their last league match of the season against St Mirren after destroying Kilmarnock in midweek; a victory at Rugby Park would secure their title as champions. It indicates that after a season of arguments, Sutton couldn’t resist taking a jab at his Sky Sports sparring partner on this sunny day at Celtic Park.
This time, Celtic icon Sutton brought his own Boyd into the recording studio to try his best imitation of the beloved Ibrox player. A cardboard cutout of Boyd was delivered to the Celtic star, who already had a replacement set up as Sutton was about to leave the punditry desk to take over commentary responsibilities before to the game.
Sutton stated, “This is my replacement,” as James McFadden and Neil Lennon, two other experts, busted out laughing. I wouldn’t want him to rejoice about Celtic’s championship run.”
Then he performed an imitation while holding “Kris Boyd” in front of his face. “The Rangers are coming,” he declared. There will be a Rangers arrival. In his commentary, James McFadden said, “That is the most sense Boydy has made all season.”
