Aston Villa are reportedly open to a player-plus-cash deal for their star player, Douglas Luiz, this summer.
Douglas Luiz has garnered significant attention after an impressive season under Unai Emery.
Arsenal has long been interested in the Brazilian, and Manchester United and Barcelona are also reportedly keen on him.
It’s no surprise that the Aston Villa star is attracting interest after playing a crucial role in their unexpected top-four finish last season.
Juventus is among the clubs monitoring Luiz, and although they lack the financial power of Premier League clubs, TuttoJuve reports that Villa would consider accepting one of their players as part of a deal for the midfielder.
Villa would accept Weston McKennie in a swap deal for Luiz.
According to TuttoJuve, Villa is not willing to let Luiz go cheaply this summer.
However, they would accept Weston McKennie as part of the deal for the Brazilian.
It would require an offer of around €50 million [£42.5 million] plus McKennie for Juventus to secure Luiz.
A McKennie swap deal seems unlikely.
Villa needs to raise funds due to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Given this, it would be surprising for the Villains to accept a player-plus-cash deal for one of their top players.
McKennie did not impress during his brief stint in England with Leeds United in the 2022-23 season.
While the ‘superstar’ midfielder’s form has improved, with 10 assists for Juve last term, Villa’s supporters would likely be disappointed if the club swapped Luiz for McKennie after achieving a Champions League spot.
