Birmingham City, Cardiff City and Sunderland face transfer disappointment over 10-goal star

Birmingham City set for transfer disappointment amid Sunderland stance

A Scottish Premiership club has successfully secured the signing of Sevilla forward Mussa Drammeh, beating out competition from several English Football League (EFL) teams including Birmingham City and two Championship clubs.

According to a report from Football Scotland, Drammeh is set to join Hearts despite interest from Birmingham City, Sunderland, and Cardiff City. The 10-goal striker, who previously played for Sevilla’s reserve team in Spain’s fourth tier, did not have his contract renewed by the Spanish club.

Hearts have moved swiftly to secure Drammeh’s services, making him their first signing of the summer. Known for his versatility to play as a centre forward or on the wing, Drammeh caught the attention of clubs in England, with Sunderland reportedly having an offer rejected during previous negotiations.

In contrast, Birmingham City has been active in restructuring their forward line, with Tyler Roberts, Siriki Dembele, Keshi Anderson, and Junior Dixon currently on their roster. The club is also set to retain club captain Lukas Jutkiewicz, who is expected to sign a new contract. Birmingham allowed Scott Hogan to depart, while loan players Oliver Burke and Jay Stansfield returned to their parent clubs.

This move highlights the competitiveness of the transfer market and showcases Hearts’ ambition to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season in the Scottish Premiership.
