George Hall has not been included in Birmingham City’s squads for the first two games of the season after limited involvement during pre-season under manager Chris Davies.

Chris Davies has confirmed that Birmingham City is planning to loan out George Hall before the transfer window closes.
Hall has struggled to get playing time under Davies during pre-season and has been left out of the Blues’ first two matchday squads. The 20-year-old was excluded from the 22-man squad that traveled to face Charlton Athletic in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
Despite Davies making eight changes to his lineup, Hall was still not included among the substitutes. Instead, highly-rated Romelle Donovan and under-21s captain Josh Home traveled to London, although neither made the final squad.
Hall dealt with multiple hamstring injuries last season, limiting him to just 133 minutes of league football. He didn’t start any Championship games, making only nine appearances across all competitions.
After the Charlton match, Davies said of Hall, “For him, the future likely involves getting the right amount of game time, which he might not be able to achieve here.”
Speaking about Hall’s future last week, Davies added, “For players we believe won’t get sufficient game time and need minutes to develop elsewhere, we’ll definitely consider loans, and George might fall into that category.
“These decisions will be clarified in the next week or two as we approach the end of the window.
“I will say again, George has been working really well, even playing out of position, which isn’t easy, but he’s adapting. It’s important to find the balance between keeping fringe players and giving them the exposure and game time they need. We’ll map out a plan for George in the coming weeks.”
