Max Wober, a defender for Leeds United, is available for a high price, but clubs will need to pay €15 million to secure his services. The Austrian will be back at Elland Road in the summer after spending the previous campaign on loan at Bundesliga team Borussia Monchengladbach.

With Brenden Aaronson already knowing that he will be in Daniel Farke’s starting lineup for the upcoming campaign, the Whites will need to make some difficult decisions regarding their returnee loanees. Wober might, however, be one of those sold on, as United has to raise money after missing out on an instant return to the Premier League.

Gladbach, a German team that helped them stay in the league the previous season, is eager to sign him permanently. However, the German news agency Bild reports that they will need to pay about £12.5 million in order to complete the deal.Although Leicester and Southampton present competition, Leeds hopes to re-sign Tottenham defender Joe Rodon on loan. Pascal Struijk is expected to return to action shortly as well.

Both Jamie Shackleton and Charlie Cresswell are capable of playing center back, although Ethan Ampadu was a standout center of defense in the previous campaign. Diego Llorente is scheduled to return from his loan at Roma this summer, but similar to Wober, it is anticipated that he will sign a long-term contract somewhere else.

Wober joined Leeds under Jesse Marsch in January 2022, but during his brief tenure at Elland Road, the team had three managers: Javi Gracia, Sam Allardyce, and then Wober. Despite being among the best players in the second part of that season, Wober could not stop Leeds from making it into the Championship.

He played during preseason under Daniel Farke, but prior to the start of the season, he moved to Gladbach, where he ended up making 27 appearances for the Bundesliga team. He is currently a member of Austria’s EURO24 team, and he will play today evening as they kick off their campaign against France.
