For the first time since the 2011–12 campaign, the Blues are back in the Championship.
The Championship aim for the upcoming season has been revealed by Eric Eisner now that Pompey’s 12-year ban has been expired.
And while they try to keep up their good trend, he acknowledges that the Premier League is still Tornante’s ultimate “goal.”
The Blues will play in the Championship for the first time since 2012 in 2024–25 after winning League One in an incredible season under John Mousinho.
Chairman Michael Eisner has been waiting seven years to get out of the division, during which he was eliminated in two play-off semi-finals. This is his long-awaited moment of success.

For the final game of their championship campaign at Lincoln, the Eisner family recently made a trip back to England.
Naturally, Eric had visited the area multiple times during the promotion run-in, including the day the League One trophy was presented, when Wigan came to town.
They then turned to America after basking in the festivities of the city at a bright Southsea Common.
He went on, “Sometimes people think we take the press less seriously; it’s more American in style.”
“It’s not that we are avoiding press at all; the team on the ground here deserves a lot of the credit and will speak with you. Andy Cullen has done an incredible job.”
“We simply believe that the credit should go to the team on the ground.”
