Although Southampton’s attempt to sign Metz midfielder Lamine Camara was unsuccessful, they plan to try again shortly with a stronger offer.
It was revealed earlier today that Saints are pressing for a trade of the 20-year-old Metz midfield player within the current window for signings.
Although Southampton is making the initial efforts to negotiate a deal to bring Camara to St. Mary’s Stadium this summer, Monaco is also expressing interest.
The French publication Foot Mercato claims that Saints have already made a tentative offer of €10 million for the midfield player.
It’s been said that the Mets quickly turned down the offer because they want to sell him for a lot more money first.
The French team understands that selling Camara this summer can fetch in a sizable chunk of money.
Southampton intends to return with a better offer for the midfield player soon, unfazed by the initial rejection.
They will have to be cautious about competition for his signing though, as other teams are anticipated to try to sign the 20-year-old this summer.
