Michael Duff has announced that Huddersfield Town players Brodie Spencer, Herbie Kane, and David Kasumu are all “in contention” to join the squad for their match against Northampton Town this weekend.
Spencer and Kasumu have missed the last four matches due to shoulder and ankle injuries, respectively, while Kane has been sidelined for five games with a groin issue. However, all three could make their return tomorrow afternoon against the Cobblers.
“They’re all training, which is a positive sign,” Duff said. “With Brodie, we mainly needed to manage his contact; he’s now cleared for full training. Herbie has had a week of conditioning and training, while Kas has been training daily this week, so he’s just a week behind Herbie. It’s great to have those options.”
Unfortunately, Mickel Miller will not be available for this match after being substituted at halftime during the 4-0 win over Bolton Wanderers last weekend. He joins Rhys Healey, Chris Maxwell, and Radinio Balker on the injury list.
“Mickel felt something in his hamstring, so he won’t be available this weekend,” Duff explained. “We don’t believe it’s serious; we caught it early. He reported a minor issue, so we made the decision to take him off.
“Fortunately, we have Jaheim (Headley) as an alternative, which ensures good competition in that position. We didn’t want to risk pushing Mickel and potentially making the injury worse.
“While he won’t be available this weekend, we don’t have a specific timeline yet. He hasn’t had a scan because it’s not deemed serious, so we’re hoping it will just be a couple of weeks.”
