Breaking News: Jack Ginnivan in the spotlight for ‘disrespectful’ social media post

AFL analysts have criticized Hawthorn’s Jack Ginnivan for causing another unnecessary distraction ahead of the Hawks’ elimination final against Port Adelaide.

Ginnivan had already raised eyebrows by visiting a Richmond pub before Hawthorn’s elimination final against the Western Bulldogs. He further stirred controversy by taunting Bulldogs fans with a drinking gesture after scoring a goal in the Hawks’ 99-62 victory.

The drama continued when Ginnivan left a comment on Instagram under a post by his former Collingwood teammate, implying the Hawks would easily defeat Port Adelaide to reach the preliminary final. His comment, “see u in 14 days,” referring to a potential matchup with Sydney, attracted backlash from fans accusing him of being overconfident.

Many criticized Ginnivan for his arrogance, while others found humor in the cheeky remark. However, Port Adelaide premiership winner Kane Cornes was unimpressed, labeling Ginnivan a distraction and accusing him of making the moment about himself.

Cornes warned that Ginnivan’s actions might motivate Port Adelaide to perform better after their heavy loss to Geelong in the first week of finals. He questioned Ginnivan’s judgment, saying, “He thinks he’s already through to a Prelim. Why would he do that?”
