BREAKING NEWS: Lions Taking A Chance On Former Cardinals WR

Given the calibre of players they selected, the Arizona Cardinals have to rank among the 2024 NFL Draft’s top victors.

The offensive firepower in the class meant that the Cardinals, who had the No. 4 overall pick, were reportedly approached with many offers to trade down.

But Arizona sensibly stayed there and selected Marvin Harrison Jr., the greatest wide receiver available from Ohio State.

Harrison is expected to become Kyler Murray’s go-to target on the field as he joins an offence that did not have a legitimate No. 1 receiver.

In addition to Harrison, the Cardinals added veteran Zay Jones from the Jacksonville Jaguars to strengthen the group.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, former practice squad member Kaden Davis made the decision to sign a free agent contract with the Detroit Lions because of all the new wideouts on the team.

According to his agent @seanstellato, former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Kaden Davis is signing with the Lions after participating in rookie camp as a tryout. According to Garafolo, Davis was active for just one game last season and was a member of Arizona’s practice squad. He finished the preseason with eight catches and a touchdown.

Davis faced an uphill struggle with Detroit given their current depth chart and was unable to make the 53-man roster for the whole 2023 NFL season.

The group’s alpha is Amon-Ra St. Brown, who is followed by Donovan Peoples-Jones and Jameson Williams.

The most likely scenario is that he winds up on their practice squad, where, if training camp and the preseason go well, he might have a shot to stick.
