Rangers are open to substantial offers for James Tavernier and Connor Goldson, and both could depart before the upcoming season begins, according to sources informed by Football Insider.
In the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke explained that the Glasgow club must offload players before making acquisitions, with the experienced duo being prioritized.
This decision follows Philippe Clement’s assertion that every player at Rangers is available for transfer as part of efforts to generate funds for reinvestment in the transfer market.
With Rangers under pressure to narrow the gap with Celtic, new signings are seen as crucial to bolstering their squad strength at Ibrox.
Tavernier and Goldson, who have been integral since joining Rangers in 2015 and 2018 respectively, have amassed a combined total of 769 appearances for the club.
Both defenders have been heavily linked with moves away from Ibrox this summer, with interest reportedly coming from Saudi Pro League clubs. Tavernier, in particular, has been offered a lucrative package by Al-Ettifaq to reunite with former Rangers manager Steven Gerrard, with personal terms already agreed.
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed that English League One side Birmingham City have shown interest in Goldson, and discussions regarding a potential contract have already taken place with his representatives.
