BREAKING NEWS: Ten Hag Rules 4 Players Out for Man Utd v Crystal Palace

Ten Hag Rules 4 Players Out for Man Utd v Crystal Palace

Erik Ten Hag has confirmed that Manchester United will be missing four players for their Premier League match against Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.

The Reds have regained form after the international break, securing a 3-0 victory over Southampton in the league last weekend, followed by a 7-0 thrashing of League One side Barnsley in the EFL Cup midweek.

Despite the recent return to training of Mason Mount and Rasmus Højlund, Ten Hag has announced that several players, including Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Leny Yoro, and Victor Lindelöf, remain unavailable for the upcoming game at Selhurst Park.

Luke Shaw for Manchester United

While Rasmus Højlund and Mason Mount have resumed first-team training at Carrington, left-back Luke Shaw remains sidelined after sustaining a hamstring injury during pre-season. Although the England international is progressing well in his recovery, he is still a few weeks away from returning, with Erik Ten Hag cautious about setting a specific timeframe for his comeback. Victor Lindelöf, Tyrell Malacia, and Leny Yoro are also unavailable for the upcoming game, with no clear return dates.

On a positive note, Lisandro Martinez and Matthijs De Ligt are fit to start after hobbling off against Southampton, while Noussair Mazraoui, who came on as a substitute against Barnsley after recovering from a knock against the Saints, will also be available.

In his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Ten Hag said:

“It’s very good news. They are back on the pitch, back in team training, and we have to decide if they’re fit enough to start. But it’s very pleasing to have them back with the squad. We have many games in this block, so it’s great news. They’ve done a few training sessions, and we’ll assess how they recover before making a final call tomorrow.”

With an impressive performance last weekend despite being on the losing side, Southampton starlet Tyler Dibling has caught the eye of Manchester United bosses according to GIVEMESPORT sources.

The Saints are looking to hand the 18-year-old winger a new contract to fend off interest from Premier League clubs, and the player is happy to commit his long-term future to St Mary’s after his development and game time under Russell Martin.

However, it is reported by GIVEMESPORT sources that Dan Ashworth is a huge fan of the talented teenager and tried to sign him for Newcastle during his time in the north-east. But with Ashworth now at Old Trafford, he could look to bring him to Manchester instead as part of the INEOS project to build a squad for the future.
