Huddersfield Town has named Michael Duff as manager for a three-year term.
Andre Breitenreiter, who departed earlier this month when the club’s relegation to League One was confirmed, is replaced by the former manager of Cheltenham Town.
Duff, 46, spent one season managing Barnsley, whom he led to the League One play-off final, before taking over Swansea City in the Championship in December.
Before moving on to take charge at Oakwell, he had previously guided Cheltenham to their highest-ever finish in 2021/22, and then the League Two title in 2020–21.
Danny Wright, a former striker for Gloucester City, Wrexham, Forest Green Rovers, and Cheltenham Town, has announced his retirement from football at the age of 39.
“Since leaving my last role, I’ve had time to reflect, recharge, and focus on what the next challenge I wanted to take on would look like,” Duff stated in reference to his new challenge in West Yorkshire.
“Whatever was to come had to be right and be a good fit, and that is exactly what this feels like.”
