Colchester United’s League Two campaign in pictures

After a thrilling 2023–24 season, Chester United was able to secure its League Two status on the last day of play.

As the tension developed, photographers Steve Brading and Richard Blaxall made sure every U’s game was covered and got some amazing shots.

Colchester managed to maintain their standing in the EFL, and here are only a handful of their numerous photos.

AUGUST

Colchester travelled to Gillingham, a short distance away, with the intention of winning their first league game after losing their previous three games.

The Gills were leading League Two after four straight victories without giving up a goal, but the U’s defied the odds and triumphed 3-0 at Priestfield Stadium behind goals from Fiacre Kelleher, Samson Tovide, and Bradley Ihionvien.

September

Colchester’s thrilling nine-goal thriller against Notts County at the end of September was the most enjoyable match of the team’s season.

With two goals apiece from Arthur Read and one each from Jayden Fevrier and Cameron McGeehan, the U’s prevailed in a thrilling match at the JobServe Community Stadium.
