BREAKING NEWS: Why Robby McCrorie should stay despite new transfer developments

The Scottish Sun reports that Robby McCrorie, the goalie for Rangers, is close to joining Kilmarnock, a team in the Scottish Premiership.

With just one year left on his Ibrox contract, the 26-year-old is reportedly close to agreeing to a two-year contract at Rugby Park, according to a report published by the newspaper on its website on Monday, July 8.

It is reported that although though Killie will be traveling to The Netherlands on Sunday, July 7, with Philippe Clement, they intend to wrap up negotiations within the following day and include McCrorie in their team for the summer.
Robby McCrorie is expected to sign a new deal to leave Rangers.

Having just made seven senior appearances for the Gers since breaking into the first squad, the 26-year-old still has a lot to show on the football field.

Rather than being given the opportunity to progress with the Gers, McCrorie has frequently been sent out on loan, spending time away from home with teams like Berwick Rangers, Greenock Morton, Queen of South, and Livingston.

The signing of Liam Kelly to the team and Jack Butland’s lackluster exit this summer will only serve to push McCrorie farther down the roster and away from any chances to play for the first team.

Both sides will benefit from the deal, as the goalkeeper will get some crucial playing time and establish himself in the Scotland national team—of which he hasn’t yet played a game.

The fact that several teams in the division are keeping an eye on the ‘keeper’s current circumstances at Ibrox and that Kilmarnock is poised to exploit his lack of playing time speaks volumes about his abilities.
