BREAKING NEWS: Wigan Athletic add fifth pre-season fixture

In anticipation of the 2024–2025 League One season, Wigan Athletic has added a fifth preseason game to their calendar.

In addition to the four matches scheduled for July against Accrington Stanley, Chorley FC, AFC Fylde, and Blackburn Rovers, Shaun Maloney’s team will visit Barrow AFC, a League Two rival, on Saturday, August 3 (3pm KO).

Latics’ preseason campaign will begin on Saturday, July 13, 2024, with a short trip to the Wham Stadium (2 p.m. kickoff) and two 60-minute halves versus Accrington Stanley.

Before the 2024–2025 season, Wigan Athletic has now confirmed five pre-season games.

Following a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on Friday, July 19, a doubleheader match against Chorley FC is scheduled. After that, players will have time to relax and travel to AFC Fylde, where play will begin at 3 p.m. on July 20.

In July’s final match, Latics will play Championship team Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 3 p.m. at the newly renamed The Brick Community Stadium.

After that, the team will go to Barrow AFC in August.
