Brendan Rodgers Embraces Exciting End To The Season

Brendan Rodgers was jubilant after Celtic’s 3-0 win over St Mirren at Celtic Park with the Hoops now four points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

With Celtic set to face Aberdeen next weekend in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup at Hampden, Rodgers spoke of how he believes Celtic will thrive under the pressure in the coming weeks.

He said: [BBC Sport], “We wanted to follow on from last week. We showed an immense courage to go to Ibrox and play how we did, and you know you need to do that now in the remaining games.

“But I think now, this is where Celtic comes alive. It’s where we come alive as a club and as a team. Five games to go, semi-finals at Hampden next weekend, and this is the part of the season we’re very excited about.”

Despite some quarters of the media writing off Celtic’s chances of retaining the Scottish Premiership only weeks ago, Rodgers appears calm and collected, ultimately thriving at being written off in his first season back at the club since leaving in 2019.

Rodgers has shown he has the ability to navigate a storm as well, with the belief months ago that his methods were not working with the squad.

But that has been sensationally shut down with impressive attacking displays, and it’s clear that even Kyogo Furuhashi, who was questioned, has risen to the occasion.
