The Double-winning Parkhead manager lavished praise on January loan signing Adam Idah for his role in the second half of the season
Brendan Rodgers lauded the January arrival of Scottish Cup goal hero Adam Idah as the biggest turning point of Celtic’s season.
Idah joined the Hoops on deadline day but his loan move initially underwhelmed Hoops fans, considering the Republic of Ireland international was third choice striker at Norwich City. But the 23-year-old quickly made his critics eat their words by scoring crucial goals against the likes of Motherwell, Hibs and Rangers to help fire the Parkhead side to title glory.
And Idah wrote his name in Celtic folklore by netting a 90th-minute winner against Rangers to secure a famous Double – a perfect ending to his short-term stint in Glasgow. Rodgers, though, has made it clear he’d love to keep the Canaries striker for next season and believes he was key to Celtic’s success.
