According to AS on Tuesday, Brighton & Hove Albion is interested in signing Andrei Rațiu of Rayo Vallecano.
Last season, the right-back’s playing time was restricted to little over 1000 minutes across 16 games.
Despite this, Rațiu continued to play for Romania in the Euros, starting all ninety minutes of the team’s match against Belgium and Ukraine. He ended up being on Brighton’s and Genoa’s summer window agendas.
Known for his quickness, the 26-year-old finished second in La Liga last season, only beaten by Real Madrid player Vinícius Júnior.
The tabloid claims Rayo Vallecano may get offers for the defender this summer, with Brighton and the Serie A team reportedly showing interest in him. They paid €1 million for the fullback and extended their contract to 2028.
