There are currently three Sydney players in the top five, according to AFL.com.au’s Brownlow Predictor

Could the Sydney Swans be on the verge of debunking a long-standing Brownlow Medal theory? Traditionally, there’s been speculation that a frontrunner for the Brownlow Medal might have their chances diminished by a talented teammate who also earns significant votes, effectively “stealing” votes from them.
However, according to AFL.com.au’s Brownlow Predictor, this season’s Sydney team appears poised to challenge that notion. As of round 15, Isaac Heeney is predicted to lead the race for the Brownlow Medal with 22 votes. Notably, he is closely accompanied by his teammates Errol Gulden, expected to have 18 votes, and Chad Warner with 16 votes. This trio’s strong position within the top five suggests that rather than detracting from each other’s chances, they may actually enhance them collectively.
This potential scenario marks an intriguing twist in Brownlow Medal dynamics, where typically a team’s internal competition for votes might hinder individual players’ aspirations.

There are three games where Heeney, Gulden and Warner have all been tipped to poll in the same match (against Collingwood, West Coast and Hawthorn), while there is only one match where none are predicted to get at least a vote (against Richmond).
Collectively, the trio have been tipped to earn best-on-ground honours in 11 of Sydney’s 13 wins, with only star ruck Brodie Grundy and a nine-goal game from Joel Amartey predicted to pinch three-vote performances from them.
