West Ham United will face AFC Bournemouth in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
The match is scheduled for Wednesday, August 28th, with a 7:45 PM BST kickoff at the London Stadium.
The Hammers and the Cherries have only ever met once before in this competition, back in October 1999 when the then-third tier South Coast club were defeated 2-0 at the Boleyn Ground in a third round tie.
West Ham have twice been runners-up in the EFL Cup, while Bournemouth’s best performance has been three journeys to the quarter-finals, the last coming in the 2020/21 season.
With both teams aiming to progress in the cup and secure silverware, the match promises to be a competitive encounter.
However, it will be interesting to see how seriously Lopetegui takes this competition with his team selection on the day.
