Celtic backed to sign Crystal Palace star after Michael Olise update

Celtic might have been supported to re-sign Odsonne Edouard this summer, despite Michael Olise leading an exodus at Crystal Palace.

On the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paul Robinson expressed his belief that Edouard is not part of Oliver Glasner’s plans.

Glasner, who took over the Eagles in February, has brought success to the club but this has resulted in significantly reduced playing time for Edouard.

However, with Michael Olise undergoing a medical at Bayern Munich after agreeing to a £50 million transfer, the Eagles could lose key attacking players this summer.

This situation might prompt Glasner to reconsider his options, though he might also choose to reinvest the money from Olise’s sale in a new player.

Such a scenario could pave the way for Edouard to return to Celtic, where he previously scored 87 goals in 179 games.

Celtic are being tipped to re-sign Odsonne Edouard after new developments.

Given that Edouard appears to be out of Glasner’s plans, a return to the Hoops could be beneficial for his career, but Robinson believes it will depend on financial factors.

“With Crystal Palace potentially losing players like Eze, Olise, and Guehi this summer, they will be tested with bids for these players,” Robinson told Football Insider.

“I think Edouard’s future will be influenced by the movement of others, but it seems unlikely he will get an opportunity under Oliver Glasner.”

“I believe that if he has the chance to move, it won’t be too costly for him.

“I think Edouard is a player that Celtic could realistically consider.”
