Celtic set to break club record following impressive £120m+ financial performance, says Stefan Borson.

Celtic’s financial outlook is set to strengthen further due to their participation in the Champions League, according to finance expert Stefan Borson. In the 2023-24 accounts, Celtic reported record-breaking revenues of £124.6 million, a 3.9% increase from the previous year. This success is attributed to the club’s performance on the pitch, including their Scottish Premiership title, Scottish Cup win, and Champions League qualification, which has helped them post a profit for the third consecutive year.

Borson highlighted that Celtic’s involvement in European football’s elite competition makes them “largely unique” within Scotland, providing a major financial boost. With a strong start to the current season, including victories in all five Scottish Premiership games and a 5-1 Champions League win against Slovan Bratislava, the club is expected to see their revenue grow even more.

These developments signal a continued upward trajectory for Celtic, reinforcing their dominance in Scottish football both on and off the pitch.

Stefan Borson emphasized the financial boost Celtic could enjoy from their successful start to the Champions League campaign, noting that “you get money for each win.” Celtic’s impressive 5-1 victory against Slovan Bratislava puts them in a strong position to benefit from UEFA’s prize money structure. Borson further predicted that, with this promising beginning, Celtic are “probably going to beat £125 million for the current year,” surpassing their already record-breaking revenue from last season. This financial momentum, driven by Champions League success and domestic dominance, is likely to continue enhancing the club’s financial standing throughout the season.
