Celtic may have already kicked off their domestic campaign, but it seems like there could still be quite a bit of change when it comes to their first team squad over the coming weeks.
The club have been busy in the transfer market over the summer, with the big money arrival of Adam Idah ending a drawn out saga revolving around the Ireland striker.
While there could still be more incomings, much of the speculation surrounding Celtic at the moment is related to potential sales. Matt O’Riley has been heavily linked with a move away from the club, with Atalanta keen to bring him to Serie A. Brighton have now also entered the race for his signature and he could well make a big money exit before the end of the window.
However, it seems as though there is also the potential for another key player to leave over the coming weeks.
Premier League Giants Considering Shock Late Move For Celtic Star
Manchester City are considering a move for Celtic winger Kyogo Furuhashi before the end of the transfer window.
The Premier League champions are currently in the market for a new attacker, with the sale of Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid opening up a need for another forward in their squad. It is suggested that the Japan international is at the top of their list of potential replacements.
The 29-year old came to Celtic from Japan in 2021, going on to score 73 goals and register 16 assists in just 137 appearances for the club. While he is an older player than the likes of Manchester City would usually recruit from the Scottish Premiership, they clearly feel that he would be able to make an immediate impact in their squad.
Kyogo is said to be keen on the potential switch. The player has three years remaining on his contract, meaning that Celtic would be in a strong position during any potential negotiations.
It will be interesting to see how this situation develops over the coming days.
