Celtic’s interest in Michel-Ange Balikwisha addressed as journalist offers update on his status

The only additions to arrive at Parkhead this summer are Paulo Bernardo, Kasper Schmeichel, and Viljami Sinisalo, which supports the idea that some late deals could emerge once the market opens up. Celtic are in the market for arrivals this month as Brendan Rodgers attempts to bolster several areas before the deadline.

It’s difficult to attract the desired quality of signing at Celtic. Sometimes you have to be patient. Fans, meanwhile, are becoming upset as they hold out hope for increased squad depth. The Bhoys’ interest in Michel-Ange Balikwisha, a left winger for Royal Antwerp, was revealed earlier in the window. The 23-year-old is the kind of player who would thrill fans at Parkhead, having recorded 10 goals and eight assists in the previous campaign.

Now, journalist Sacha Tavolieri has offered an update on his hopes of a transfer this summer that may clear up his situation somewhat.

According to Tavolieri via his official X account, Balikwisha has sustained an injury concern that has turned out to be ‘worse than expected’, which could rule the prospect of a switch to Celtic this summer.

“Michel-Ange Balikwisha’s injury looks worse than expected,” he said. There seems to be less chance of a transfer this summer. Hold on and see. Last week, 67 Hail Hail revealed that Antwerp’s asking price for the versatile attacker has made it increasingly less probable that Balikwisha will end up at Celtic. If Tavolieri’s most recent update is any indication, this could be the last straw. Additionally, the Hoops have been scouting Bazoumana Toure, a Hammarby starlet, though it is unlikely that they would make a move this window. It is evident that this month, the flanks are an area that has to be improved. In spite of this, Celtic might need to focus on something else while searching for reinforcements.
