Cesc Fabregas says player who left Man United on a free was even better than Eden Hazard

Chelsea v Manchester United: Is Eden Hazard the best Premier League player? | Football News | Sky Sports

Eden Hazard, the hero of Chelsea, was surpassed, according to Cesc Fabregas, by a former Manchester United player.

While he was at Stamford Bridge, the Belgian was among the top players in the Premier League. He was a major contributor to Chelsea’s triumph and was just amazing to witness.

Despite having played alongside Hazard, Fabregas still thinks a Manchester United icon is better than the Belgian.

Wayne Rooney is preferred by Cesc Fabregas above Eden Hazard.

When Wayne Rooney played for Manchester United, he was a superstar.

The Englishman became a vital member of the Red Devils team under Sir Alex Ferguson after leaving Everton as a teenager in the summer of 2004.

After spending 13 years at Old Trafford, he rose to become one of the team’s all-time greats, finishing with 253 goals and 139 assists in 559 games.

Prior to joining Everton on a free transfer in 2017, Rooney also won 17 major trophies while at Manchester United, including five Premier League crowns and a Champions League.

Even if Eden Hazard’s career wasn’t as successful as Rooney’s, he was still an incredible player to watch when he was at his best.

He is so much of a fan that Cesc Fabregas placed him higher than ten elite football players, including Sergio Aguero.

But when it came down to it, Fabregas only saw one winner in the discussion between Hazard and Rooney; in a video posted on Goal, he chose Rooney over the former Chelsea player.

Eden Hazard’s previous remarks regarding Wayne Rooney joining Chelsea

Wayne Rooney came very close to leaving Manchester United on a few occasions.

One such instance occurred in the summer of 2013, when Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea was very eager to have the Englishman play at Stamford Bridge.

Manchester United even turned down a number of the Blues’ proposals for Rooney (BBC).

Rooney ultimately remained at Old Trafford, but Eden Hazard openly discussed the possibility of bringing Rooney into his team while Chelsea was pursuing a move to sign him.

According to The Telegraph, he stated in 2013 that Rooney would be a fantastic addition.

“At just 27 years old, he possesses a tremendous deal of experience and is a genuinely great player. He still has a few years to live. Playing with outstanding players is always enjoyable, and Chelsea consistently signs excellent players.
