Chris Sutton has blasted the decision to award Rangers a penalty in the Old Firm Derby after Fabio Silva was initially adjudged to have dived and given a yellow card.
The Wolves loanee, who had drawn the ire of Sutton for his theatrics throughout the game, went down under the challenge of Greg Taylor part way through the second half.
Referee John Beaton immediately brandished a yellow card for simulation but was then instructed to review the incident at the pitch side monitor by VAR.
Having been given another chance to see the action, he reversed his decision and gave the home side a route back into the tie, which they took, with James Tavernier’s confident spot-kick.
Sutton labelled the call ’embarrassing’ after saying that Silva’s fall to the ground was an example of ‘blatant cheating’.

Silva appeared to already be on his way down before his thigh came into contact with the flailing leg of Taylor.
Celtic had taken the lead after only 21 seconds thanks to Daizen Maeda’s freak goal before Matt O’Riley doubled their advantage before the break.
The home side are hoping to overtake their arch rivals at the top of the league standings heading into the final six games of the campaign.
