PETE After leading Barrow’s Cumbrians to the brink of League Two promotion throughout the season, Wild has departed the club by mutual consent.
After stints at Oldham and Halifax, Wild made an instant impact upon arriving at Holker Street, transforming them from relegation contenders to ninth in his debut campaign.
This season, after going winless for seven games in the final stretch, Barrow ran out of steam and finished eighth, one point outside the play-offs.
Following an abrupt separation, the Bluebirds will now have a new manager in place.
The club announced, “Barrow AFC can confirm that it has today parted company with their manager Pete Wild following a post-season review.”
It was decided that this was the wisest and most suitable course of action when it became clear from the evaluation that Pete and the club had different ideas about how to move forward.
“We hope Pete finds success in his future endeavours.”
Barrow verified that Wild’s personnel would stay put and answer to Iain Wood, the sporting director, who has already commenced the process of finding a new head coach.
