Although there are several transfer rumours surrounding Crystal Palace this summer, Roy Keane believes one is particularly intriguing.
Since Oliver Glasner was a highly sought-after addition to Crystal Palace, this summer has always seemed like the start of something great for the team.
The Eagles went seven games without a loss at the end of the season, and Glasner’s on-field exploits have so far amazed everyone. The team ended 10th in the Premier League. This came above rivals Brighton, which was unexpected given the storyline surrounding the two teams leading up to February.
But a summer of strengthening was required if the club was to keep moving up the league the next season and maybe make a run at Europe.
This is precisely what has started to occur, with Daichi Kamada being believed to be the next to arrive after Chadi Riad. However, there is one goal that would truly make a statement.
Now that it seems doubtful the Red Devils will exercise their £21 million option to buy him, Palace is one of the Premier League teams interested in the Moroccan.
It should come as no surprise, either, given that the midfielder has recently demonstrated his ability, drawing comparisons to his incredible World Cup performances that astounded Roy Keane.
After the competition, Keane stated of Amrabat, “He was outstanding.”
Given the endorsement of one of the greatest defensive midfielders in league history, it’s reasonable to conclude that Amrabat would be a fantastic addition to Palace.
What is Sofyan Amrabat’s future plan?
The Morocco international stated following United’s victory in the FA Cup final last weekend that although they haven’t yet exercised their option to purchase Amrabat, that possibility still exists.
He said, “Do I already know what I’m going to do next year?,” in an interview with Ziggo Sport. No. We are going to have a conversation. It is absolutely an option to stay.
“Well, I feel like this season has been really challenging. It has to be much better for Manchester United and for me personally. We are going to have a conversation.
Given that Manchester United is the largest football team in the world, who wouldn’t want to play here? However, since everyone needs to get along, let’s just sit down and watch what transpires.
Amrabat, if he’s available, may be a great addition for Palace, since he might provide Glasner with an unpassable midfield when paired with Adam Wharton.
