DEAL: Burnley Star set to return to Turf Moor after loan club opt against triggering permanent deal

Darko Churlinov of Burnley has been verified by Schalke as not being signed by them permanently.

The winger made 10 appearances and scored once during the second half of the season after joining the German on loan in January.

A permanent transfer to Schalke for an alleged €3.5 million (£3 million) was an option of the original agreement, according to a statement from the Bundesliga.According to two outfits, Churlinov will be making a comeback to Turf Moor.

Yusuf Kabadayi will return to FC Bayern München when his season-long loan at FC Schalke 04 ends. In a statement, the team announced that Darko Churlinov, who signed a loan with the Royal Blues in January 2024, will be returning to Burnley FC.

Marc Wilmots, sporting director of Schalke, continued, saying, “We appreciate Yusuf and Darko’s time and work on S04.”

“We hope the best for them both in their future endeavours, personally and professionally.”

Churlinov arrived at Burnley in the summer of 2022, although his playing time was restricted to just 13 games as the team advanced from the Championship.

After being suspected of having blood poisoning last year, the North Macedonian was admitted to the hospital due to a serious sickness. He was flown back to the UK after being taken to a hospital in Belgrade.

After making a full recovery in the end, Churlinov went on loan in January to try to get additional playing time.

This summer, the 23-year-old will rejoin Luke McNally, Connor Roberts, Anass Zaroury, Scott Twine, and Wout Weghorst as one of 13 loanees at Gawthorpe.
