West Ham engaged in talks during the transfer window to sign Jonathan Rowe from Norwich.
According to a report on 20 August, both West Ham and Crystal Palace were in discussions over the 21-year-old attacker. However, neither club advanced to make a formal bid, while Leeds United made two offers. Despite this, Rowe has informed his club and agents that he is solely focused on a move to Marseille and seems set for a switch to Ligue 1.
Tim Steidten has already strengthened West Ham’s wide positions this summer by bringing in Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras and Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United.
Discussions have surfaced about West Ham’s interest in Jonathan Rowe from Norwich.
Steidten has been ambitious in building a squad for Julen Lopetegui, aiming to kickstart the new era with momentum.
Rowe, who scored 12 goals in the Championship last season, has become a sought-after target and, at £15 million, would have been reasonably priced for West Ham this summer.
However, with Summerville now at the London Stadium, Leeds are eyeing Rowe to fill the void, but his arrival at West Ham may be unlikely due to Summerville’s signing.
