Everton team against Luton Town confirmed as Youseff Chermiti decision made

Everton manager Sean Dyche has made one change to his Toffees starting XI for their Premier League showdown with Luton Town on Friday 3 May.

The Blues boss has decided to axe teenage forward Youseff Chermiti in favour of Dominic Calvert-Lewin who returns to lead the line having missed the Toffees’ crucial win over Brentford last time out.

Chermiti drops to the bench where he is joined by the returning Beto and young striker Lewis Dobbin who has recovered from injury to return to the fold following an impressive performance in the Toffees’ youth ranks.

Will Everton and Sean Dyche claim all three points against Luton at Kenilworth Road?

For the first time this season, Everton and their supporters can finally relax and enjoy watching their side for 90 minutes as relegation is no longer a threat. Hopefully, the players will echo that sense of relief and play with the shackles off.

While there are still plenty of issues off the field that are looming, with 777 Partners’ takeover still hanging in limbo and star players continuously being linked with summer transfers away from Merseyside, matters on the pitch are sorted.

Dyche isn’t the sort of manager who will allow his team’s standards to slip and while he may let a few of the players off the leash in Friday’s game, he will still want his side to reflect his values and make life difficult for the Hatters.

Injuries and fitness issues have obviously played their part in the Toffees boss’ selection, but he will be confident that his side can extend their three-match winning run in the league against Rob Edwards’ side.

Hopefully, the Blues can end the season on a high and pick up another three points to carry some momentum into next year.
