Everton want to sign ‘explosive’ Watford star Yaser Asprilla amid ‘cheap’ transfer news

Watford chief makes Yaser Asprilla transfer claim amid Everton and Barcelona links

According to the Sunday People, Everton has expressed interest in Watford striker Yaser Asprilla this summer and may make a bid.

According to a report on page 58 of their July 7 edition, Asprilla is being considered by the Toffees after a successful Copa America campaign with Colombia.

After crushing Panama 5-0 in the round of eight, Asprilla’s country has advanced to the competition’s semifinals and will now take on Uruguay.

With just a year remaining on his contract at Vicarage Road and the possibility of being available for “cheap” to Sean Dyche’s side, the 20-year-old has long piqued Everton’s interest. The club even made an attempt to recruit him late in the January transfer window.

Everton rejoins the Asprilla pursuit.

Asprilla has time on his side, and Dyche thinks the Colombian international can help Everton.

The press has called the right-winger, who can also play in an attacking midfield position, “explosive” and “skillful,” with the ability to create opportunities out of thin air.

With Jack Harrison signed for a further season and their name in the hat for Hull City attacker Jaden Philogene, the team is looking to bolster several areas of the field.

Asprilla has been benched in three of Colombia’s Copa America games thus far, but he has been used as a dangerous and unpredictable impact player, totaling 65 minutes in victories over Costa Rica and Bolivia.

In 28 of his 44 league games last season, the youthful player started for Watford, where he scored six goals and collected seven assists.
