Ex-Rangers man Greg Stewart completes ‘dream’ move after Kilmarnock departure

Rangers victory sets Kilmarnock bar high says defender but side won't get carried away - Daily Record

Greg Stewart has completed a “dream” transfer move to Mohun Bagan Super Giant in India after leaving Kilmarnock earlier this summer.

The former Aberdeen and Dundee attacker returned to Rugby Park for a second spell in January but struggled to make an impact for Derek McInnes’ side. Stewart, 34, was released over the summer and has now signed a one-year deal with the Indian Super League club, where he previously played for Jamshedpur and Mumbai City.

Stewart, who has also had stints with Rangers, Aberdeen, and Dundee, will join forces with former Hibs and Rangers player Jason Cummings at Mohun Bagan. Stewart expressed his excitement about joining one of India’s biggest football clubs, saying:

“It has been a long dream of mine to play in Kolkata – the mecca of Indian football. I am familiar with most stadiums across the country and have won personal awards as well as titles during my time in Indian football. But to play for a historic club like Mohun Bagan and don the famous colours of green and maroon will be a completely different feeling.”
