QPR’s ownership has seen significant changes in recent years, leading to various developments behind the scenes. The current co-owners are Malaysian businessman Ruben Gnanalingam, Indian industrialist Lakshmi Mittal and his family, and American investor Richard Reilly.
Amit Bhatia now serves as chairman, while Christian Nourry holds the position of CEO. Tony Fernandes, who had been involved since purchasing shares in 2011, left the club last year.
Nourry has also assumed the role of spokesperson for the owners, with QPR currently competing in the Championship for the 10th consecutive season under the management of Martí Cifuentes.
QPR ownership’s relationship with supporters
When asked about the relationship between QPR’s supporters and their owners, a fan pundit from FLW noted that communication from the trio of owners, especially Richard Reilly, could be improved. However, he praised the positive influence Christian Nourry has had since becoming CEO in early 2024.
“I think with the board reshuffle, where Lee Hoos moved to a different role and became less involved in public communications, Amit Bhatia is still involved but not as visible,” Moir told Football League World.
“Since Christian Nourry stepped in as CEO, he’s taken charge of most communications. He seems very open and transparent, whether it’s interviews with the club or making statements about on- and off-pitch matters.
Carlton Palmer also commended QPR for securing Jake Clarke-Salter on a new long-term contract, calling him “class.”
“As for the owners—Ruben, Amit, and the American, Richard Reilly—you don’t really hear from them. I’d say that’s an area that could be improved.
“Because of Nourry’s active role, everything goes through him, and that seems to be satisfying the fans. He makes sense in his decisions, and so far, he’s been spot on.
“You could argue the owners wouldn’t say anything different, but personally, I’d like to hear more from Richard Reilly, who hasn’t spoken much at all. I’d like to know more about his involvement.
“Other than that, I’m happy with how things are going, and I hope Christian Nourry continues in charge for a long time.”

Queens Park Rangers (QPR) have experienced a challenging start to the 2024/2025 Championship season. After eight matches, the team has secured only one victory, alongside four draws and three defeats, placing them 22nd in the league standings. Notably, QPR has not achieved a win in their last four games.
Looking ahead, QPR is scheduled to face Derby County at Pride Park on Saturday, October 5th, with kickoff set for 3:00 PM BST. This match presents an opportunity for the team to improve their standings before the upcoming international break.
Nourry has earned QPR supporters’ trust so far
The CEO represents the ownership and executes the vision and strategy they have for the club. While the owners themselves may not communicate directly with fans, Nourry has effectively taken on that responsibility.
Despite a challenging start to the season under Cifuentes, the manager is unlikely to face significant pressure at this stage. Nourry’s patience in allowing him time to improve results will likely be appreciated by supporters, who have grown fond of the 42-year-old manager.
The club also managed to retain Cifuentes over the summer, investing in his squad and fending off outside interest, reflecting progress both on and off the pitch over the past year.
