EXCLUSIVE: Everton close in Ndiaye as Dyche eyes Man City winger as Minteh alternative

FootballTransfers has learned that Everton is nearing a deal to sign Marseille’s Iliman Ndiaye, and Manchester City’s Issa Kabore is also being considered. Ndiaye has already verbally committed to moving to Goodison Park before the 2019–20 season. The two clubs now only need to finalize a move for the Senegal international, with a deal potentially worth up to €20 million including add-ons.

The team’s dismal goal-scoring performance from the previous season—they averaged the third-lowest number of goals in the Premier League—has head coach Sean Dyche identifying the need to strengthen the offensive end of the game this summer.

Arnaut Danjuma has left Villarreal after his loan period ended, while Jack Harrison will be returning to the team on a new loan from Leeds. Chelsea’s Armando Broja is still a target, but only if Dominic Calvert-Lewin is moved on; Newcastle has pulled out of the running to sign the forward. According to reports, Yankuba Minteh, who is reportedly close to joining Lyon, was valued at £75 million by the Magpies, and Everton declined to match their offer.

The 23-year-old, who can play right flank or right back, was on loan at Luton Town for the previous season. While there, he made 24 appearances in the Premier League and contributed two assists. Iliman Ndiaye: who is he? Ndiaye only played 46 games in Marseille’s season-long roster the previous year. He left Sheffield United, where he played for three seasons, to join Les Phoceens, one of his previous training clubs. Although he is under contract with his present team until 2028, FootballTransfers’ Expected Transfer Value (ETV) system values the 24-year-old at €17.4 million.
