Sunderland will travel to Home Park to face Plymouth Argyle in the Championship this weekend. Argyle manager Wayne Rooney has confirmed that both Brendan Galloway and Darko Gyabi are expected to be available for selection after recent injury concerns.
Rooney provided an update at a Thursday press conference, stating: “I think they’ll both be fine and hopefully available for selection on Saturday. Darko’s injury was not as serious as we first thought. He’s come back from groin surgery, and there was a misreading of his condition from the specialist. We’re hopeful Darko will be available, and Brendan is looking okay.”
However, there is less positive news regarding Argyle goalkeeper Conor Hazard, who will be out for approximately three months following ankle surgery. Rooney said: “The surgery went well, but it’s expected to be 10-12 weeks before Conor is back. It’s unfortunate timing as he was eager to get his chance and had been playing well. Dan Grimshaw will now have the opportunity to step up and get a run of games, and he needs to be ready.”
