Exclusive: Scott Parker discusses Mike Tresor’s Burnley status after winger’s inclusion in squad list

The winger has yet to make an appearance for this season or even be included in a matchday squad. However, with his name included in Burnley’s official squad list, it appears the 25-year-old is nearing full recovery from his injury issues and should soon be available for selection.

“He’s fit and healthy. He’s back with us,” Parker said.

“He spent a large part of last year, especially towards the end, dealing with injuries, and there were some complications related to that. He returned to Belgium with a serious injury or illness.

“But now he’s back with us and involved. He was on the pitch today, and I worked him into some team drills before he did some individual work to get back up to speed. He’s progressing well.

“I’m excited to work with him. I’ve seen him play in Belgium, and he’s got great quality. Hopefully, he’ll play a significant role for us this season.”

Tresor was initially brought to Turf Moor on loan from KRC Genk for the 2023/24 Premier League season. Although he made 19 appearances for the Clarets, he didn’t start any league games under Vincent Kompany. Despite this, Burnley had an obligation to make his loan permanent at the end of the season.
