WTA stars Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek have secured spots within the Top 5 of the world’s highest-earning female players.
As he prepares for his US Open debut, world No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz has claimed the top position on a different ranking, as Forbes recently revealed its list of the world’s highest-paid tennis players.
For the first time, the 21-year-old Spaniard leads the list, having earned an estimated $42.3 million (USD) over the past 12 months, prior to taxes and agent fees. This marks a significant leap over 37-year-old Novak Djokovic, who was last year’s top earner, with Alcaraz surpassing Djokovic’s estimated $37.2 million in earnings during the same period.
Despite Djokovic’s dominance on the court—amassing $12.2 million in prize money compared to Alcaraz’s $10.3 million—the younger star has excelled off the court. Forbes noted Alcaraz’s impressive endorsement portfolio, featuring top brands like Nike, Rolex, Louis Vuitton, BMW, and a Netflix deal for an upcoming docuseries.
An astounding $32 million of Alcaraz’s $42.3 million came from these off-court ventures, which reportedly include a packed schedule of appearances and exhibitions, where he is believed to earn $1 million to $2 million just for attending.
Forbes’ full Top 10 list of the world’s highest-paid tennis players also breaks down how much of their income comes from off the court.
