The EFL awarded Bolton Wanderers the silver accolade for Family Excellence Status, and the team is pleased of this achievement.

The programme, which debuted in the 2007–08 season, evaluates the family-friendly atmosphere that Football League clubs offer. For the excellence of their matchday experience across a variety of touchpoints, such as ticket sales, matchday entertainment, accessibility, facilities, and communications, clubs are awarded Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards.

Throughout the season, there were two “mystery family” visits to EFL clubs. Based on their reports and input, the clubs were able to determine whether or not they would be designated as “Family Excellence.”

Bolton Wanderers’ CEO, Neil Hart, stated: “We’re thrilled to be granted ‘Family Excellence’ status for an additional year.”

“The Silver award signifies our ongoing efforts to enhance the matchday experience across all facets of our football club,” the statement reads.

“Whether that’s through our Community Day programmes, which provide families discounted Wanderers tickets throughout the season, or our extremely affordable League One Season Ticket costs.

“Off the pitch, the Leasing Options Fan Zone offers the best pre-match entertainment for any Wanderers fan. With food, drink and live entertainment available, it’s the ideal place for fans to get in the spirit for kickoff.

As a team, we’re dedicated to making sure that everyone feels welcome at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, and collaborating with Bolton Council to build a Changing Places facility there was an important first step in that direction.

The Bolton Wanderers Supporters Trust is to be thanked for their unwavering support and for collaborating with the Football Club to upgrade these spaces and make Bolton Wanderers accessible to all.

“We have a great foundation to work from with the silver award, and the club can move forward to improve even more in the upcoming seasons.”

Trevor Birch, the Chief Executive of the EFL, stated: “It’s really encouraging to see more than one million junior supporters attend an EFL match for the third season in a row, highlighting the great work being done by EFL Clubs to encourage young people through the turnstiles. Attendances across the EFL are at a modern-day high.”
